Torquil started his career in sport 12 years ago with London Irish Amateurs and Academy at Sunbury. He then went to France to work in the Ski fields for two years with professional skiers and snowboarders as well as recreational skiers.
Torquil moved to New Zealand and worked with the Tasman Makos NPC rugby team for three seasons. In the off season he worked for the Nelson Giant's basketball team and in a sports therapy clinic, during this time he completed a Masters in Sports Rehabilitation. He returned to the UK in 2010 and worked for the Cornish Pirates as there head physio for two and a half seasons. Just before joining London Irish he spent the season with the London Broncos rugby league team as there senior phsyio.
