London Irish Assistant Coach Clark Laidlaw hailed his side’s attack play following Saturday’s clinical 41-17 Greene King IPA Championship victory over Yorkshire Carnegie.

Tries from Ben Ransom (2), James Marshall (2) and Aseli Tikoirotuma sealed maximum points for Nick Kennedy’s men to extend the Exiles' winning run to 10 games in all competitions.

“We are delighted to get the win and it was pretty tight for long periods of the game, but I thought we played reasonably well and to get the bonus-point was a real plus,” said Laidlaw.

“We’ve been scoring a lot of maul tries so far this season, but in the last couple of weeks we’ve been getting a good platform from our scrums and we’re able to cause teams a lot of problems with our scrum attack.

“The backs are delighted with the work that our forwards have been doing up front and subsequently we’re able to exploit some space,” he added.
