Leading construction services company VGC Group has joined London Irish as an official partner for the 2016/17 season in an important commercial partnership for the club.

This new sponsorship deal will see VGC Group become an official partner of the club with the group’s brand appearing on the club’s playing shorts for all Greene King IPA Championship and British and Irish Cup fixtures.

The VGC Group has established itself as a leading supplier of business support services to the civil engineering industry including labour supply, contracting, construction, recruitment, training and vehicle rental. The VGC Group is on target to achieve a record turnover of over £65m in 2016, with their people working on some of the UK’s biggest infrastructure projects including Crossrail, Hinkley Point, Sellafield and London Heathrow.

Bob Casey, Chief Executive of London Irish, said: “We are delighted to have secured this important partnership with the successful VGC Group. It is a key player across prestigious infrastructure projects in this country and has recognised the values and ambition we have as a club. We look forward to sharing our exciting journey both on and off the pitch with Sean Fitzpatrick and his colleagues throughout the season.”

Sean Fitzpatrick, Chairman of VGC Group, said, “As a successful and growing services group we’re pleased to have signed this partnership with London Irish.  Rugby is a team game, and at VGC we are a team. We are growing, because of our ability to recruit, develop and nurture the right team to deliver major infrastructure projects across the UK. We are proud to be an official partner of London Irish this season. Just as London Irish are putting together the team to win the Championship, at VGC we are building the best team to outperform the competition and do the best possible job for our clients.

“The new partnership offers opportunities not just to build awareness of VGC but also to participate in mutually beneficial promotion as part of the club’s outreach programmes.  We’re looking forward to working with Bob Casey, Brendan Venter, Nick Kennedy and the senior and Academy playing squads.”
