London Irish centre Fergus Mulchrone is expecting a stern test when his side travel to Nottingham Rugby in the Greene King IPA Championship this Friday (kick-off 7.45pm).

Mulchrone, 29, who was handed his start of the campaign in Sunday’s bonus-point win at home to Ealing Trailfinders, is well aware of the dangers posed by Nottingham.

“They [Nottingham] have got some good players back from injury and they have some big ball carriers so I’m expecting it to be tough,” said Mulchrone, the catalyst for the Exiles’ opening try at the weekend.

“Ben ran a great line which allowed me the opportunity to put him in at the corner – it was the first dry day that we’ve had this season so we were able to throw the ball around a bit.

“All the boys seemed like they were having fun and a lot of our set-piece stuff was working when we got the ball into the midfield.

“If I was been picky we probably left a few tries out on the field. We are yet to put in that 80 minute performance so we will continue to build,” added the Mancunian.
