Now in its third year, the national QBE Rugby Pro competition will give amateur clubs the opportunity to win a specially designed training session at a Premiership Rugby Club. Coaches and players of the winning clubs will be given expert guidance from professional coaches.
QBE, Official Business Insurance Partner of Premiership Rugby, is committed to the development of rugby and QBE Rugby Pro is part of the wider QBE Coaching Programme, which aims to bring best practice coaching to amateur rugby. The bespoke training sessions will be specially designed by Premiership coaches to assist in developing the skills of each winning team.
Premiership Rugby stars Dylan Hartley, Teimana Harrison, Vasily Artemyev and Tom Mercey launched QBE Rugby Pro this week, at Franklin’s Gardens, with Bedford Athletic Blues Rugby Club. QBE, the business insurance specialist, will give 12 grassroots rugby clubs the opportunity to win a great prize.
Northampton Saints and England hooker, Dylan Hartley said: “This is a great chance for amateur teams to come to a Premiership club and receive guidance from leading coaches and players which will help their future development.”
Elliot Miller, General Manager UK National, QBE European Operations, commented: “We have already seen how QBE Rugby Pro has benefitted clubs across the country. Access to elite coaches and facilities are one of the ways QBE is supporting the development of the game. We look forward to hearing how hard working clubs plan to use the sessions to benefit them throughout the coming season and beyond.”
Nominated clubs must be from outside Premiership Rugby and the RFU Championship. Entries can be submitted via a short form at QBErugby.com until 30 November.
The nominations will be judged by a panel including members of the media, Premiership Rugby and QBE. The winning clubs will be contacted in January and published at QBErugby.com.
