Reading station will be closed for several days over the festive period while major engineering works take place as part of the redevelopment of the railway station.
South West Trains is advising passengers and fans planning to travel by train to the Harlequins v London Irish rugby match at the Twickenham Stadium on Monday 27th December to allow plenty of time for their journey.
The game will kick-off at Twickenham Stadium at 4.30p.m. Over 60,000 fans are expected at the stadium and train services are expected to be extremely busy.
Wyatt Gates, Station Manager at Twickenham for South West Trains said: “Additional bus capacity will be provided, however we would like to remind passengers that seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis and journey time will be significantly longer. If travellers are not attending the match we would strongly advise them to travel at a different time to avoid the crowds.”
