Exiles and Concern Worldwide in partnership for another season

International humanitarian organisation Concern Worldwide is delighted to announce that London Irish has chosen them as their charity of the year for the second season running.

Since the launch of the partnership last year, London Irish has helped Concern raise over £3,000 at their home games which has gone to fight hunger in 26 of the world’s poorest countries.

Rose Caldwell, Executive Director at Concern said: “We’re thrilled that London Irish has decided to partner with us for another season.

One in eight people go hungry every day and this limits everything for them. They are starved of hope and opportunity. However, the funds raised by the loyal London Irish supporters are helping us to change this and to work with communities to make long-lasing improvements in their lives.”

London Irish CEO, Andy Martin said: “We are delighted to be working with Concern Worldwide for a second year. It was fantastic to see our supporters giving so generously last season to such a worthy cause. Concern are working tirelessly as an organisation to tackle poverty and hunger in the poorest parts of the world and we are happy to be supporting this effort.”

London Irish fly half, Ian Humphreys agreed and said “I’ve known of Concern since I was in school and after finding out even more about their efforts in tackling hunger over the past year, I’m very happy that London Irish have chosen Concern as our charity partner for another year.”

London Irish winger and England International, Topsy Ojo said: “Our supporters have shown their commitment to tackling hunger along with Concern over the past season through their generosity at our home games. We are hoping they will continue this support throughout our 2013/14 season.”
