London Irish looked to bounce back from their narrow defeat against Bath in the U18s league with a home game against Bristol at the Hazelwood training centre.

The game kicked off in great conditions with Irish taking control from the start. St Georges College Weybridge scrum half Callum Watson picked up the first score with a sniping break from close quarters.

Wellington College fullback Tom Parton quickly added the second showing footwork and pace.

Bristol born St Pauls Catholic College Hooker Curtis Langdon was full of energy against his home town club and also crossed the line with a great break and side step to beat the full back from the 22.

It was clear that the home time were in the ascendancy and were keen to add more to the scoreline. St Pauls Catholic College lock and Captain Luke Frost crossed following a catch and drive as the young Exiles earned the bonus point after only 23 minutes.

Bristol to their credit responded and mounted a period of solid pressure in the Irish half. Fly half Jordan Hayward ran a great line to unpick the Irish midfield defence to cross under the posts.

Wellington College number 8 Isaac Curtis Harris, continuing his great run of form, was again outstanding and added a try following some more well worked play that coaches Dec Danaher and Paul Hodgeson would be proud of.

Bristol again fought back to add their final score of the game and make the half time score 31-13 to the dominant home team.

In the scone half Irish scored 20 unanswered points whilst ringing the changes from the bench. Wellington College centre Matt Williams cut an excellent line to cross untouched from the 22m. Callum Watson added another from short range and Seaford College Hooker Matt Kouris crossed from another catch and drive to bring up a final score of 51-13 to the home side.

London Irish play their last game of the Aviva U18 league on Friday 6th February against Saracens at Allianz Park.
