George Stowers joined London Irish in July 2009 on a two year contract.
The 30-year-old back row player joined from the Kobe club in Japan where he played for the past seven years.
George was born in Apia in Western Samoa and went to St Joseph's College in Samoa before moving to Wesley College, Auckland's famous rugby nursery, to complete his second level education.
He started playing rugby in Samoa and continued through his school years. He played for Counties Manukau in the National Provincial Cup in New Zealand and for Waikato Chiefs in the Super 12/14 tournament.
He made his international debut for Manu Samoa against Ireland in 2001 and has made 14 appearances for his country, including serving as captain. He was last seen in action in England when he played for the Pacific Islands against England at Twickenham in November 2008.
Stowers is a powerful athlete who is highly regarded for his tackling over the ball; he also has great distribution skills for a No 8.
