Born in Darwin in Australia, David Paice started his rugby career with Brisbane's Souths as an under 14s player. Educated at Brisbane State High School, he played for Queensland Schoolboys before moving to England. He joined the London Irish Academy in July 2003 and was part of the club's U19 team that won the National Cup that season.

He was nominated for the 2006/7 Sunday Times 'Try of the Year' for his dash to the line against Northampton Saints. With 100 first team appearances and five tries under his belt, he has become a regular in the Exiles' line up over recent seasons. David made his full international debut for England against New Zealand in July 2008, coming off the bench as a late replacement for Lee Mears in both Tests. He was also named in the 2009 England Saxons Elite Player Squad.
