London Irish announced the signing of Scotland international, Joe Ansbro, on a three year deal in March 2011.

With eight Scotland international caps to his name, Ansbro joined London Irish in October after representing Scotland at the Rugby World Cup. Making 15 appearances for Northampton during 2010/11 season, the international is highly rated for his explosive power and ability to find space, as well as being defensively solid. His great adaptability on the field means he can also play in the centre or on the wing.

Joe joined the Northampton academy in 2006 whilst also studying for a Natural Sciences degree at Cambridge University. During his time at Cambridge he also played in the Varsity Match producing an impressive performance.

Joe played 65 times for Northampton, scoring 18 tries.
