BRIAN SMITH
"We got battered against Sale, they were at full strength and we're still a long way from that, and a long way from the top of our game."
Brian Smith talking to BBC Radio Berkshire's Graham McKechnie:

"We were disappointed with silly mistakes which opened the door for Sale and they charged straight through it.
"We'll go in with short turnaround and preparation but we worked very hard last year to get in the Heineken Cup and we're going to make a go of it.
"If we can play well at home on Friday then maybe we'll be good enough to get a win, and that's very important to kick off our campaign.
"But we've fought hard to get our spot and we're going to be a handful."
DAVID PAICE
"I've never played Llanelli before and never in the Heineken Cup, so I'm looking forward to it."
David Paice talking to BBC Radio Berkshire's Graham McKechnie:

"We are going to try and enjoy ourselves, and obviously try to win. There are a few injuries but that happens to everyone.
The Heineken Cup is the pinnacle of rugby, we strived last year to get here and all our goals were aimed at this. To not play too well once we are there would be an anticlimax.
"The last two games we didn't play too well - we are getting better but we need to improve by at least 50 per cent."
DECLAN DANAHER
"It's been a frustrating couple of weeks, I'm glad to be back and to play in the Heineken Cup again."
Declan Danaher talking to BBC Radio Berkshire's Graham McKechnie:

"Only the best teams make it to the Heineken Cup - it's a big opportunity and we can't afford to waste it.
"People aren't expecting us to do much, hopefully we can come out and perform and get our season going."
TOPSY OJO
"We haven't had too much time to reflect on the Sale game."
Topsy Ojo talking to BBC Radio Berkshire's Graham McKechnie:

"That's been good, not to think about it too much. You have to get over these things.
"With injuries we've been hit quite hard, especially in the second row. But we've got a big squad and we have to use it.
"It'll be a big challenge for me but I'm looking forward to it. This is the closest to Test Match rugby before you actually play an international."
