Community Coach Ian Price was delighted to visit Aldershot and Fleet on Sunday 3rd February as part of the Community Roadshow scheme which has been running since the beginning of the 2007-8 season.
Ian coached the U11s, U12s and U13s separately working on certain skills which the head coaches had highlighted as needing some special attention. With the U11s he focused on rucking technique, with the U12s he went through handling skills and attacking wide channels and finally the U13 squad had a brilliant session on defensive organisation. Ian really enjoyed the session and had this to say about the roadshow visit:
"It was a bitterly cold morning but all players showed great enthusiasm, combined with some fantastic skills levels. I was particularly impressed by the way some players read the game, showing excellent understanding and knowledge. I look forward to working with them again in the future."
The club was particularly please with how the coaching went and welcomed the Premiership Club’s assistance. Aldershot and Fleet Club Coaching Co-ordinator Rob Hunt said “Today has been just what we were after and I think the kids got a lot of benefit from it. I’d like to thank Ian for coming down today and we look forward to seeing him again really soon.”
