Future Plans Exhibition

London Irish hosts public exhibition to unveil its proposals for The Avenue and Hazelwood sites and thanks local residents for exhibition feedback.

London Irish recently unveiled its proposals for the relocation of the club’s facilities from its current overcrowded home at The Avenue, Sunbury, to a larger facility at the nearby Hazelwood Golf Centre. As part of a programme of consultation activity, London Irish held the public exhibition to share its vision for both sites with the local community. The public exhibition ran from 12pm to 8pm on Friday 11 September at Hazelwood Golf Centre, Croysdale Avenue and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 12 September at London Irish, The Avenue.

The exhibition attracted a great deal of interest with 570 people attending over the two day period. Visitors were able to view and comment on the outline proposals for the two sites and a questionnaire was available for people to formally register their views. Representatives from London Irish and its professional team were also available throughout the exhibition to listen to comments and answer questions about the proposals.

Andrew Coppel, London Irish Holdings Chairman, comments:

“We would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend our exhibition and view our outline plans for the future of both The Avenue and Hazelwood sites. Over 200 questionnaires have already been completed and returned to us providing some excellent feedback and ideas. These are by no means finished schemes and, as promised, we will now look at the many comments and ideas voiced as we continue to develop these plans. . The masterplan will be reviewed in light of the suggestions received from the local community and we will look to keep the public fully informed of progress at every stage of the planning process.”
