P3
Over the past two seasons we’ve joined forces with local charity P3 to offer health and fitness courses for young adults aged 16-25. We’ve run two projects in 2007 and one in 2008 thanks to funding which the charity have received through the Big Lottery Fund, Youth Opportunity, and Youth Capital Fund. The aim of all three courses was to introduce the participants to health and fitness and to increase their confidence through sport. They proved to be a great success amongst their clients and positive changes in the clients were also noted, confirming the worth of sport as a medium to tackle social exclusion among youth. | |
Portsmouth University
| In March 2008 third year students from Portsmouth University on the Sports Development degree programme helped us to run our St Patrick’s Party MatchDay festival, giving them practical experience of running a community event. We’re pleased to be able to offer this unique insight for students and hope it will become a key part of their studies. | |
