Meet the Community Team

At present the Community team is made up of 3 full time members of staff. See below to find out a little bit more about them.

Community Development Manager – Philippos Kyriacou

Philippos joined London Irish as Community Development Manager in July 2005 and since his arrival has made a huge impact on the clubs involvement with our local community. He has always had a keen interest in all sports particularly in rugby and studied Sport Science at Brunel University. Through the department’s community outreach schemes in schools, local rugby clubs and on match days Philippos has become very well know across Berkshire and Hampshire and was delighted to win the Reading Sports Personality of the Year Commitment to Sport Award in December 2007.

Community and PR Officer – Zoe Mathieson

Zoe joined the team on a part time basis in January 2006 and became full time in October 2006 once she’d completed her MA in Sport Management. Her main role within the department is co-ordinating and organising all our various events and programmes, plus various bits of tag rugby coaching. She loves everything to do with sport particularly netball, running, spinning and swimming. Zoe is also a qualified Level 1 rugby and netball coach.

Community Coach Ian Price

Ian joined at the start of 2008 as our first full time community rugby coach. His role is to help run and deliver all of our various coaching programmes. Ian previously worked as a multi-sports coach for Sport Somerset and has a degree in Sport Science.
