Since 1964 Tring Rugby Club has become an important part of both the town`s sporting and social community.

From it`s present location in Cow Lane the club caters for rugby fans of all ages and abilities with very successful mini, junior, colts ladies and senior sections. At senior level the club fields four teams every weekend through out the season, with the First Team now competing in London 1, following promotion at the end of the 2007/08 season - their fourth in five seasons. London 1 represents level five in the rugby pyramid` - the Guinness Premiership is at level one. Not bad for what many consider to be a "small town club"!

The Second team compete in the highly competitive Canterbury Shield, taking on teams from across the southeast including development squads from teams in the national leagues. The Third and Fourth teams continue to play in the Herts / Middlesex RFU Merit Table leagues where they will be hoping to build on the success of last season.

Tring was the first club in the country, outside of a school, to have a youth section and this has always been a strong part of the club`s development. Many of today`s senior players started out in the Mini and Junior section. This season over 350 children between the ages of 6 and 19 regularly played or trained at the club. At this level fixtures are mostly made up of mini tournaments or festivals where several clubs will bring players covering several age groups to the club for a day of rugby. Every year, in March, Tring host an annual festival for Mini Rugby - clubs from throughout the region compete with over 1000 children taking part.

Tring`s ladies team is now entering its 4th season, and they have a line up of regular fixtures waiting to be played. The squad is always looking for more players to join the ranks and participate in what is a very exciting and challenging sport.

As an amateur organisation the club is supported by it`s members, the parents of mini and junior players, the senior players; who pay match fees every week and the generosity of a large band of Vice Presidents - a level of club membership which is supported by regular match day dinners and other events throughout the year. There are also contributory schemes with prize funds to increase revenue.

Not only is Tring a great place to play rugby, more and more people are finding it a friendly and exciting place to watch the sport too. With home games nearly every weekend there is always something going on and access to the ground and the clubhouse, where food and drink is readily available, is free.

The club`s clubhouse is also one of Tring`s most flexible function venues. Dinners for up to 100 people are regularly catered for using the on site kitchen and the building is also used for corporate events, receptions and private parties. The fully licensed bar, ample car parking and flexible layout make it an ideal location for your event.
