The Academy Manager will design for each player an individual development programme that meets his needs in the areas of both technical and physical development, and allows him to pursue his education/career. Whilst the World Class Performance (WCP) supported player will be involved in the process on a full time basis, his actual programme will at the same time be designed to fit in with the delivery of both his rugby programmes and his personal development.

The programme will ensure that the player can gain access locally to:

• Specialist skills courses/appraisals
• Psychometric assessment/other sports psychology input
• Fitness testing and appraisal
• Player development review 'based upon joint academy director/England coaches' appraisal
• Other personal development/mental agility/attitudinal tests
