Supporting the Local Community
London Irish has two nominated charities each season, currently these are The IFGB - The Forgotten Irish Campaign (www.irlfunds.org/great_britain/campaign.asp) and The Caron Keating Foundation (www.caronkeating.org). In addition to these, London Irish considers all other requests, with special consideration given to those which will benefit our local community. However, our resources are limited and regrettably we are unable to support every appeal we receive. For this reason we are only able to help an individual charity once per season.
Examples of ways London Irish has helped recently:
- Digger ran the London Marathon
- Signed rugby balls given to local rugby clubs and schools through the Community Programme
- Hundreds of tickets have been donated for raffles and auctions
- Charities have sent items which have been signed by the squad
- Bucket collections held at each home game
London Irish can get shirts or balls signed for registered charities if pre-arranged and purchased through the Megastore (just ask them to send it to the Charity Co-ordinator at Sunbury, together with the registered charity number for authorisation)*. Signed memorabilia will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. We will not guarantee the authenticity of any item without said certificate.
If you are holding a charity fundraiser, please contact community@london-irish.com as Digger might be available to come along!
Each request must be in writing, telephone or e-mail applications will not be considered. Please write to:
